Embossed Santa Card

This card features Santa inside a wreath. The mint portion of the background was embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then inked. The santa is made from a stamp from Stamptivity called Father Christmas with Holly2. I colored in the stamped image and then attached pewter heart brads to the center of the flowers. Instructions are below.

Level: Intermediate
Time Needed: 20 minutes

Father Christmas With Holly2
Black Ink Pad
White Cardstock
Light Brown Cardstock
Red Cardstock
Mint Cardstock
Corner Rounder Punch
3 Pewter Heart Mini Brads
Cutting Tool
Dry Embossing Folder/Tool
Metallic Gold Ink

1.Cut the light brown sheet of 8.5X11 inch card stock in half so that each piece measures 5.5X8.5inches. This is going to be your card. Fold in half.
2.Cut out a piece of mint cardstock approximately 4X5.25inches. Using the corner rounder, round all the corners on the mint cardstock and the light brown card base.
3.There are many methods to emboss the mint cardstock piece. The method shown was done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and Cuttlebug machine. Simply place the piece of cardstock in the embossing folder and run the folder through the machine. Lightly rub the metallic ink pad across the top of the paper so only the embossed portion is inked. An alternative method would be to stamp a background and heat emboss with gold embossing powder.
4.Attach the mint piece of cardstock to the center of the card base.
5.Cut a strip of red cardstock approximately 4.25X2.5inches. Attach the strip to the center of the card.
6.Stamp the Father Christmas stamp in black ink onto the white cardstock. Color in the image as desired. Cut out the stamped image.
7.Attach the mini brads in the center of the flowers in the stamped image. Attach the stamped image in the center of the card.
