Daring Christmas Card

This card was made using this week’s challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar blog. The challenge this week is a sketch challenge by Lim. The stamps used for this card are from the October stamp set of the month: Stampin UP Winter Post.

I was trying to pick out matching patterned paper for the cracked glass circle I made, and I narrowed it down to two choices. My fiance said, “be daring go with the stripes”. SO I did! The outside piece of white cardstock measures 6X6inches. The striped patterned paper is from this years Christmas Stack from DCWV and it measures 5.75inches square. I inked the edges with SU Riding Hood Red ink. The Stampin UP Baja Blue cardstock strip measures 2X5.5inches and the white cardstock strip measures 2.25X5.75. I inked the edges of the strip with SU Pixie Pink ink.
There is glitter mixed in with the embossing powder so the cracked glass sparkles.

  1. OHHHH!!! I love a Christmas card with out the traditional colors! The Techniques are wonderful and the vintage appeal is gonna make me but this set straight away! Great Job!

  2. Very nice! I like the stripe background, your daring paid off! And I love the colors you used, I think non-traditional Christmas colors (other than red and green)are so pretty. I am going to have to be daring like you and start using them!!
