The Painter

I got my first set of watercolor crayons in my November order and boy I love them!! It brings back the painter hidden in me, LOL. I took acrylic painting classes/lessons from 3rd grade until 10th grade and still dabble in acrylic painting from time to time. The problem is our house doesn’t have a great place for natural light to come in like a true painter needs so it is very hard to paint for me.

Anyway, so this was the first card I made with my watercolor crayons and aqua painter. For the humming bird, I used the In Color ink pads and the aqua painter. I will be posting a how to watercolor shortly, I just have to make it through my last two finals first!! I just wanted to share this card really quickly.

The hummingbrid stamp is from Stampin’ UP’s Spring Song set. I actually ordered this set because of the other bird in the set (it is a chickadee or something similar but it looks just like my little canary!!!). The sentiment is from SU’s Best Yet hostess stamp set. The patterned paper is from the SU Green Tea pack. I used matching cardstock colors including Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery. Then I used Pink Pirouette ribbon and patterned paper (for the scalloped strip) from the SU Banbury pack. I distressed the edges of the cardstock and painted the top edge of the blue patterned paper with Distress crackle paint.
