Happy Cricut Wednesday all! Today I have a pretty neat little project to share with you!
I have a confession. . . I am stress shopper. . .I think as many of you faithful SP followers know, I definitely have a hoarding problem when it comes to scrapbooking (honestly, aside from the scrapbooking, our home furnishings and decor is VERY MINIMALISTIC so no I don’t have a real hoarding problem, just with scrap goodies). And I tend to go scrap shopping most when I am dealing with stress.
This week was my first week back to school so what did I do??? I bought 4 of the brand new Cricut Cartridges last weekend!!!!!!!! I am stressing about having to be in school one more year :O( I know it will be worth it, but it sure does stink. . .
These cartridges are not supposed to be available until mid-september, but AC Moore had them!! From what I gather on the Cricut messageboard, not ALL AC Moore’s have the new cartrdidges yet, but mine had these 4 new ones!!
I got Sweethearts, Everyday Paper Dolls, Winter Woodland, and From My Kitchen:
He he, notice all the scrappy stuff around the cartridges in the photo, yeah, my desk was THAT messy!!! I had to clear some space for the cartridges LOL.
So today, I am sharing a die cut from the Cricut Winter Woodland cartridge! This is such a neat cartridge because it has 3D shapes!!!!! There are all the shapes to make your very own little holiday paper village. I plan on decorating our mantle with this cartridge!
For my tree, I cut it at 7.5inches tall using Old Olive cardstock. Then I stamped the leaves from the Stampin’ UP Season of Friendship stamp set using Old Olive ink. I tried to rotate the way I stamped the leaves so there was some variety.
Next, I stamped the little bird using Riding Hood Red ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut them out with my new pink Xacto knife (Thank you, Elmer’s!!). There are little birds on the other sides too.
Gluing the tree together was rather difficult using liquid glue so next time I think I will use a hot glue gun.
When it was done, I set it by our family computer and Johnny came up to use the computer and just laughed at it! I am sure he thought it was as adorable as I thought it was :O) Anyway, I hope you like it!
