Goodbye Stampy #3

Each week, I will feature a project using a retired Stampin’ UP stamp set and if you have the stamp set, I hope you will share your projects on here as well, just post a link to your project using the same stamp set for that week in Mr. Linky below! I am sure I am not the only one out there with a bunch of retired stamp sets so I hope we can have some fun!
This week’s Goodbye Stampy stamp set of choice is. . . God’s Beauty! This is one of my faves. All the stamps used on this card are from this stamp set. I just love that gorgeous butterfly!
Here is the card I made:

  • My background was made by using a Stampin’ UP texture plate and running it through my Big Shot.
  • TIP: when using texture plates, place a piece of scrap cardstock as your “shim” between your rubber impressions sheet and your black impressions pad. This will give you an extra deep impression into your cardstock.
  • For my stamping, I first stamped the butterfly, colored it in with a Pumpkin Pie marker, then created a mask so I could cover over the butterfly. (For more masking technique info, click on SWS Workshops at the top of my blog)
  • Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig (SWS Workshops also contains Stamp-a-ma-jig info!), I repeatedly stamped the leaf image around the butterfly. Then I colored the leaves in with an Old Olive marker.
  • Last, I just sponged around the rest of the card and stamped on my sentiment.

If you create a project with the God’s Beauty stamp set, enter a direct link to your project below. I will pick some of my faves and feature them on my blog!! And you will get an awesome “I was Featured” button :O)
