Usually my SWS tutorials are posted on Saturday, but I got majorly sidetracked so, it is happening today! LOL I have been trying to get my video uploaded for today but it has been going SOOOOOOOOOOOOO SLOW so I am not going to get it up here until tomorrow. Here is my final project for my With All My Heart week. I hope you enjoyed my projects this week using the Stampin’ UP With All My Heart stamp set. Check back tomorrow to see my new Stamp Set of the Week. I will share my full card details in my next post.
Each Saturday, I hope to have a Stampin’ With Sami (SWS) Lesson for you -in the form of a tutorial with step-by-step photos. It will either be a fancy technique or a cool new way to use a product. The purpose of me bringing your these mini workshops is to hopefully convince you to become one of my lovely customers :O)
Today, my tutorial is about a cool way to use Crystal Effects.
Crystal Effects is a cool paper glaze that Stampin’ UP makes. It comes in a bottle with a fine tip so you can put the Crystal Effects exactly where you want it. Once it dries, it is shiny/glossy looking. It can also be used as an adhesive.
Now that you know what it is, I would like to show you a way I decided to use it. . . AS GLOSSY PAINT!!
- Manhattan Flower embossing folder
- Reinker (I used Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry reinkers)
- Crystal Effects
- Paint tray or dish
- Whisper White cardstock
First, I used my Big Shot with the Textured Impressions Manhattan Flower on some Whisper White cardstock to get the flower shape embossed on my cardstock.
Then on a paint tray (I use an old saucer for a paint tray LOL), put a couple of drops of Reinker of your choice (I used one drop of Melon Mambo and one drop of Rich Razzleberry).
Add a small amount of Crystal Effects into the reinkers and mix together with a paintbrush.
Paint over your embossed flower.
Let dry and then cut around the embossed image to use on your project!
