About the Spring Cleaning & a Reveal Card

I would like to say a few words (ok maybe a novel’s worth of words) about the Spring Cleaning Giveaways. . .

When I decided to go through my stash and donate the unwanted items, I had no idea what kind of response I was going to get. The Negative Nelly side of me considered the possibility that people would think I was a total weirdo and they wouldn’t be interested at all.  But the Positive Polly side of me always takes over and so I decided “Heck with it,  I am going to do it anyway”!! So I posted all my unloved goodies here on my blog (and there is still time to get in the runnings for a chance to win!! Scroll down on my blog and take a look)

And OMGosh I am COMPLETELY and UTTERLY BLOWN AWAY at the response I have gotten, and the comments are still coming in! I had no idea that it would turn out to be what it has become. I have been reading every single comment (which the number is in the thousands! I am getting hundreds of comments a day still).  I am just so happy to share with you. I wish I could give away stuff all the time to everyone. It just fills my heart with joy to be able to give something back for all the wonderful happiness that you have all given me just by being here and looking at my projects and reading what I have to say.  I am just absolutely humbled and . . . well speechless!  I just can’t thank you enough for the joy that you have brought to me.

While I am talking about the giveaways, I want to answer a few questions that keep popping up and clear up some stuff :O)

OK First off, NO my room is going to be far from empty when all your items are shipped out from the giveaway!!!  I still have a room completely packed with scrappy goodies.  AND YES I am completely 100% sure I want to part with these items! They really won’t be missed!

Many people have mentioned that they would like to SEE my room, well I have a pretty out of date video RIGHT HERE (click). I was using an old crappy camera so the quality isn’t that great, but you will get a little idea of my room! LOL

I will be shooting some videos of the giveaway items all in my room and then an AFTER video once the items are shipped off so that is kinda in the works for the coming weeks :O)

I am a completely open and honest kind of a person and I have mentioned more than once that I am a former SPOILED BRAT (and many would argue that I am still spoiled and even a little bratty!! LOL) so that means I have LOTS OF STUFF because I am used to always getting what I want and I haven’t yet stopped that way of thinking completely! . LOL Susan totally knows. . . the budgets have just never worked for me! HA HA HA  (On that same token though, I am a very giving person and people in my life will attest to that, I do love to give back)  Anway so I have just accumulated way more stuff than I can ever begin to use and therefore, I had to part with some of the items because I am **trying** to spend less and I am **trying** to get rid of things I am not using. After all, I don’t want to end up on that show Hoarders!! LOL

And finally even after all 35+ giveaways are mailed out I STILL will be left with TOO MUCH scrappy stuff in my room so I will probably be going through this whole process again sometime in the future!

So if you are still here reading. . . THANK YOU!  I also want to mention, I do love getting comments and I always read every single one of them. I know y’all are all out there reading (my traffic reports say so! LOL)  but I usually don’t get many comments so if you would be so kind as to leave me a comment or two every once in a while, I sure would appreciate it!!

OK Now that I have written the longest blog post in the history of Scrapmaster’s Paradise, let’s have some fun and reveal this week’s Stamp Set of the Week!!! Nearly every week, I showcase a Stampin’ UP Stamp set that I own and love, right here on my blog. This week, I chose a set I got just for my mom. . . it is called Garden From the Heart!  I originally didn’t plan on purchasing this stamp set but my mom looked through the Occasions Mini catalog with me one day and mentioned how beautiful the set was so I had to get it for her!!  The more I look at it, the more excited I get about the set. It is just so gorgeous. I am really happy she convinced me I needed it! LOL

Now isn’t that hat just the most beautiful thing???  That hat is from the Garden From the Heart stamp set! The sentiment is from the Well Scripted stamp set.

  • The card base is Pale Plum cardstock.
  • The green patterned paper is from the Sweet Pea designer paper pack. I just really liked the soft pattern on it. This is probably one of my favorite paper packs of all time!!
  • I used a strip of Pretty in Pink cardstock and made a border out of it using the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.
  • The hat was stamped from the Garden from the Heart stamp set and then colored in with Copics from iCopic. I used the following colors: R27 (Cadmium Red), R22 (Light Prawn), R20 (Blush), E35 (Chamois), E37 (Sepia), C1 (Cool Gray 1), C3 (Cool Gray 3), V95 (Light Grape), and YG63 (Pea Green).
  • I cut out the hat with my Xacto Knife and then used Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back to make it POP off the page.
  • Finally, I did some faux stitch work across the top of the card. This is a technique I plan on showing to y’all in the future!! I used the Mat Pack and the Paper Piercer to create the holes! I just love the way it looks.

  4. Your card is super cute! I just want to say thanks again for your wonderful giveaways and your hard work on this blog! I am one of those that come to your blog all the time(love it)but I dont post to often, that will be changing!

  5. Thanks for the insight on your giveaway. I am not looking at my own “no using and horded” pile…wondering if I could be as generous as you…and have my own giveaway!

I like the that green paper. Green is turning into my new fav. color!

  7. Cute card Samantha 🙂 I like the colors. It’s really nice that you’re getting more and more followers with these giveaways, you really made me laugh with this blog post. You’re really such a sweet person by giving away so many things.

  8. I love the card! Very cute!

Just wanted to say thank you again for the chance to win these items, and I understand about having too much and stuff not needing it all.. I think next year (or when we move), I will be doing something similar.. won’t be to the extent that you have gone, but still.. It’s always good to give back! 🙂

  9. I’m sorry – I’m one of those people who visit but hardly ever comment. I don’t comment on many blogs – partly because it takes time, and I’m trying to visit as many as I can and don’t want to have to leave out so many because I’m commenting. There is only so much time available to visit blogs! But I do come by often to see what you are up to!

  10. Samantha: That card is just gorgeous. And I read your blog post start to finish and was rolling on the floor laughing. The thought that a few (okay a lot) of give-aways could empty your scrap room just made me laugh. In fact, I think that you should leave my name out of every drawing pot. As nice as the stuff is, the truth is that I really don’t need it either (except maybe that glue-dot-popper thing). I can’t even get into my scrap room and I have begun to fill the living room (and the thought of being on Hoarders makes me shudder – my kids might turn me in).

  11. absolutely beautiful card! I really hope this give away also drums you up some stampin up business! I know you didn’t do the giveaway with that thought in mind but seriously……IO think everyone should at the least take the time to look thru the catalogs if they do not already have a stamping up person they shop with. She didn’t pay me to say this either…..lol. I have found the crafting community to b e full of wonderfully kind and generous people and I am so glad you have found that to be the case as well……God Bless you and yours!

  12. I fell in love with the heart/border punch as soon as I saw your card! I also love the stamp..the font is very pretty. Very nice job..this card is lovely!
