Creepy Tree Card

Hey everyone!  Hope you are having a happy hump day! Today is a very exciting day. I have two big things due today for my college classes. First, I have my first graphic design project due! We were assigned a project, which was to design our own logo for ourselves. . . well I have to present it in front of the entire class! AHHHH.

Next, I have my drawing portfolio due today. I am really hoping that my professor does NOT make us present our work to the class. Critiques are always a nerve wracking experience for me. It is MUCH easier to share my scrappy projects here in blogland.  I hope y’all will send out good thoughts for me. Hopefully my projects will be a success.

For today’s project, I played along with the SP Color Combo. This one is definitely a great Halloween color combo but I used one of my new Christmas stamp sets on this card. LOL I actually like how it came out.

That tree is from my brand new set called Ornamental Trees. This set is now available for pre-order and should be shipping by next week!

The sentiment on this card is also from an SP and Company stamp set. This sentiment is from the Mini Card Creations II Stamp Set.

On the rest of the card, I used some new (to me) products. The background was made with American Crafts glitter paper! This stuff is super shiny and super thick! I really loved the look of it (and have another card using it later in the week). What do you think of the glitter paper? I am thinking about stocking it in the SP and Company store because it is just so gorgeous!!

The spider border is part of a 12inch border also from American Crafts. This border is glossy chipboard and it is adhesive backed so you just peel and go!

Also, I used some Stampin’ UP products (of course! You know I love it). I used the Word Window punch, the Modern Label Punch, and the Movers and Shapers die that matches the Modern Label Punch.  I finished the card off with some Old Olive 5/8inch grosgrain ribbon.

The card base is Basic Black cardstock.
