A little lace

Hello again, my friends!!

Well, I finally made my way to the doctor today and I am so glad I did. Turns out I have an ear infection plus a sinus infection. No wonder I have been feeling so yucky!! Thank goodness for antibiotics and well wishes. I appreciate the well wishes some of you have been sending my way. My readers are just the absolute best and I feel so blessed.

So I am back again (scroll down to see SP Color Combo #95) to show you the iCopic.com challenge for this week, along with my card!

This weeks challenge is to color an embellishment using your Copic markers! I chose to color this gorgeous lace! Make sure to play along and enter by visiting the iCopic blog here

Card details:

  • The card base is Rustic Cream cardstock from Papertrey ink. Dawn McVey is one of my scrappy heroes and she mentioned to me that this was her favorite cardstock during her make and take at CHA last July. Well I tried it and she definitely was on to something. I just love the way it looks on my cards. See all those lovely speckles? I just love ’em!!
  • I used a sponge dauber to ink around the edges with Punpkin Pie classic ink. Unfortunately (for fortunately, you decide), there was some left over brown ink on the sponge dauber so it came out with a deep brown undertone.
  • The rectangular shape and sentiment are both from the Mini Card Creations I stamp set. I just love the sentiments in this set and in the II and they could really used for so many things.
  • And the thing that makes this card is the lace!!! This lace is from Hobby Lobby. It came on a roll and was $1.99, BUT they had their ribbon half off and I snagged it for $0.99!!!! I used my Copic YR16 to die my ribbon this bright orange. Then at the top, I added a row of adhesive pearls.
