Boy Meets Girl. . .

Hi everyone! Today I have a very clean and simple card for you!

I was really proud of this one because I did a little score/embossing on it.

It is actually kind of funny. Anytime I go for a very clean and simple card, my husband does not really like it.  He likes lots of layers and elements on a card & most of the time, he tries his best to tell me how wonderful he thinks my project is. When I do CAS cards, he does the “that’s nice” pat on the head type comments, LOL! So when I was making this one, I had it planned out in my head, and the whole time I was saying “you aren’t going to like this one very much. . .” well, he wasn’t too pleased with it, but luckily, I really liked it so you can see it 🙂

This card features the beautiful Flutter Heart stamp set. I showed you a baby card made with this set yesterday. This set is just so versatile!

For this one, I trimmed out a square (I think it is either 3X3 or 3.25X3.25inches). Then I scored around all the edges .25inches in to create this embossed edge. I used the side that the score lines were raised up (which is the opposite side from where I actually scored on).  Then I stamped these beautiful stamps in the center! Then I popped up the square using dimensional adhesives and rounded the corners on my card base.

  1. lol I am so laughing right now because my boyfriend is the complete opposite – he loves the plain and simple and the more layers I add, he says it’s too busy and “frou.” Love the simplicity in your card, Samantha!

  2. What a gorgeous card! Love that embossing. My husband doesn’t like “cute”…I just make sure I have some kind of texture on it and he’s happy!

  3. Samantha that is so funny that you would say this because I have the same situation with my husband except just the opposite – he really likes the CAS cards and I would rather have more layers and elements!! Great card by the way!!
