Birthday Gift Card Holder

Hi everyone! Today is 3D Thursday over on the MarkerPop blog and I am in charge of it this week so I decided to make a gift card holder. This project was pretty easy to make. I made a little tutorial for ya to go along with it. I used a little girl image holding ice cream so it would be perfect for a gift card to an ice cream place.

I used two different green cardstocks for my holder, but you could use the same color if you would like.

The lighter piece (shown in the top of the photo) will be the inside of the holder. It measures 4X8inches. Score this sheet at 3, 4 and 5inches.

The lighter piece (shown at the bottom of the photo) will be the outside of the holder. It measures 4X6.25inches. Score this sheet at 3 and 3.25inches.

Fold the inside (lighter sheet) down the center and punch it with a circle or oval shaped punch as shown below.

Using a craft knife, cut along the center fold up to about 1/4inch from the edge of the paper.

Fold along the other two score lines and the gift card fits inside!

Fold the outside layer into a book shape as shown:

Using a strong adhesive, attache the holder part inside the book shape:

Insert gift card:

Cut a small strip of cardstock to 1/2inch X2.5inches. Score at 1 and 1.25inches. This will be the fastener.

Attach this to the back of the holder as shown. Attach repositionable adhesive to the closing part so that it can be closed and easily opened back up.

Decorate as desired. I used some patterned paper from the Wild Rose Studio’s Strawberry Picnic paper pad.  I also added a To and From stamp to a piece of white paper. These stamps are from the SP and Company Stitchery Doo Banners stamp set.

On the outside, I used a CC Design image called Kiki La Rue Sweet Kiki and a birthday sentiment from the SP and Company Bold Sentiments III stamp set.

That’s all for today, folks! I am so glad you stopped by & I hope you found this tutorial useful.
