Hi everyone! Happy Monday!!
I am really excited because today is a new challenge over at the MarkerPop blog. We are on challenge #5 and you can see all the challenge details by clicking here. Make sure to play along because the lovely Lawn Fawn is sponsoring us this week!
The theme for the MarkerPop Challenge is Children/Back to School and what could be more children-themed than an inspirational quote about following your dreams?!
I decided to try out a white + bright type of card. For this card I actually used ALL WHITE paper. I know it’s hard to believe (see below).
I used the super cute Cruisin Through Life stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I created the scene with the two pinwheel shapes plus the little flower bunch. I just repeated the little flower stamp to create the flower field look.
I used the following Copics:
- For the flowers: R81, R83, R85
- For the grass: YG23
- For the pinwheels: BG32, BG34, BG45, Y00, Y04, Y08
- For the pinwheel stick: Pitch Black Spica Glitter Pen
I colored in the banner shape with the Y04 Copic.
The stamped image layer measures 3.25inches and then I cut the mat layer 1/8inch larger.
For the sky of the image, I just added some Pool Party ink (from Stampin’ UP) using the Tim Holtz Ink Applicator and then I doodled in some clouds with an Elmer’s Painters white pen.
The background was embossed with an embossing folder from Sizzix/ Stampin’ UP.
To finish of the card, I added some glitter brads to the centers of the pinwheels.
Here’s another look at the finished card:
I colored the teal mat layer and the yellow banner layer with my Copics to match my stamped image! Isn’t that cool?! In the photo below you can see that I didn’t have to use much of the Copic color to create the mat layer. I just ran the marker around the edge of the paper. I used BG34 for this part.
That’s it for today folks! Thanks for stopping by!!
