Hi everyone! Whew! It has been such a fun and busy day for me. I’ve been crafting, baking/decorating a TinkerBell Cake (it’s like those barbie/princess cakes where the dome cake is the dress and a doll sticks out from it, except this one is Tinker Bell! YAY!), and working on some very important (and totally fun!!) behind the scenes work. iMovie and Youtube FINALLY got my video done for today’s Frugal Friday. That’s what I get for not uploading it last night! Anyway, let’s get started with Frugal Friday, shall we??
In this Frugal Friday, I share a bunch of different little scallop punch flowers & one other cute way to make an embellishment out of a scallop circle. I also squeezed in two Christmas cards near the end. I think you will really enjoy it.
I am pretty sure I have a scallop punch, but if I do it is in storage right now since we are staying with my mom for a couple months while the hubby finishes grad school. I made do with what I had and used my Cricut Expression with the Winter Woodland cartridge. The scallop circle came from the first shape button (which is on the first page of the booklet that comes with the cartridge) I used the blackout layer. It worked perfectly in place of my handy dandy scallop circle, but it probably would have been way easier to just punch them by hand with a punch. . . but alas, I digress!
On my second card, I shared an AWESOME and super easy technique with the Poppy Field Summer stamp set and it is going to blow your mind! Seriously, this makes the poppy silhouettes even more versatile!
I also used a bunch of different glitter sprays and other elements, but you can substitute with whatever glitter sprays or glitters that you have on hand. The great thing about these flower embellishments is that you can really make them out of whatever papers & embellish them with anything.
Sit back and I hope you enjoy it!
