Hey everyone! Happy Monday! It is Monday Inspiration over at the MarkerPop blog today so I am sharing a fun tutorial (actually two). This Monday, we’re going to concentrate on coloring WHITE items.
Although, white should be a very simple color to add to your projects, you actually have a few choices for your white coloring. I tend to stick with the C’s (Cool Greys) and the W’s (Warm Greys) to do most of my white shading. You could really use any of the 0000’s, 000’s, and sometimes even the 00’s of any color family depending on what undertones you would like your white object to have. If you think about coloring snow, for instance, you would want it to have blueish undertones, so some good colors for that would be BG0000 + BG000 or maybe B0000 + B000. For my project today, I colored some white fur.
For this card, I used an adorable image from Wild Rose Studio called Tilly with Flowers. Wild Rose Studio specialized in the most adorable clear stamps, like this one. They are one of my favorite stamp companies out there. They quality is excellent and their characters are just precious. We’ve got a bunch of WRS Stamps, Embellishments, and Papers in stock, including the new Christmas ones. You can see them all by clicking here.
I made a quick video on how I colored the fur for this project.
I also have a video tutorial on how I colored the flowers for this project.
Here’s the info for the rest of my card: The sentiment and banner stamp are both from the SP and Company Stitchery Doo Banners stamp set. I also used some patterned paper from the Teresa Collins Fabrications Canvas 8×8 paper pad & some Prima Say it in Crystals from the Brown & Gold Pack. To finish off the card, I added some Orange Divine Twine in a nice little bow.
