Hey everyone!! Happy Monday! I have a project + videos, and a new giveaway to share with you.
First, let’s get right to the giveaway. This week, I am going to give away a sampler of Twine from The Twinery. I offer samplers of individual colors in the SP Store. One lucky commenter will win an assortment of Twine in some festive Christmassy colors!
The fun thing about this giveaway is you can enter to win all week long –the more posts you comment on, the better your chances will be to win! Simply sign up to be a follower if you aren’t already & then comment on one or all new posts throughout the week. This giveaway will end on Sunday October 14th at NOON EST. The Weekly Giveaways will run Monday through Sunday at NOON EST & a winner will be posted Sunday night or Monday morning (not quite sure yet! lol).
Here is some fine print:
- International readers can enter, I will ship anywhere!
- Only one comment per new post please.
- If for any reason you have an account but CANNOT leave a comment (I know some times folks have trouble with the comments thing), leave me a message on the SP Facebook page or email me or something. LET ME KNOW & I will post a comment for ya 😉 I don’t want to leave anyone out!
Now, here is my project for today. I participated in the latest Monday Inspiration over at the MarkerPop Blog. The theme was Black coloring & we decided to pair it with Twine.
I decided to make a square card today because the image I wanted to use is just so large. It takes up pretty much an entire standard card front if you leave all the white space around it like I did here. This card measures 5.5inches square.
I’ve recorded the entire coloring process for this image, which is in four parts below this photo:
The most important part of my card is this gorgeous image that I colored in. This big image is from The Greeting Farm and it is called Anya Treats. I just adore TGF images, but this one is one of my absolute faves! I had so much fun coloring this one.
I have FINALLY gotten to a place where I actually LIKE my own coloring. Of course, I still manage to color outside the lines pretty much all the time, but I finally really like the results of my coloring. I feel like I am decent at it & I am getting prouder and prouder to share my coloring projects with you! I still have lots of room to grow as a Copic colorer, but I finally feel like I am starting to get GOOD at it 🙂 Do you ever feel like that, “FINALLY, I am good at ______!” ?? What do you feel like that about?
I paired my image with some spooky papers from the Carta Bella All Hallow’s Eve paper pad. I added some Divine Twine on the spider web layer. I added a scallop border & some enamel dots from the My Mind’s Eye Honey Love pack (part of their The Sweetest Thing Collection).
Now before we get to the videos, I must warn you, if you watch them ALL, it will add up to a long time. I suggest you go through them with some breaks and come back to them later. I think they are worth watching, but you might go crazy if you watch all 4 at once, lol. If you are a subscriber to my Sami’s Copic Coloring Channel on Youtube, you may have already seen the first three. In that case, just skip down to the 4th one, which is brand new.
In this first video, I show you how I colored the auburn hair:
In the second video, I show you how I colored this skin tone. This is one of my newest favorite skin tones. No matter what colors I use for skin tones, I always color the skin using this same process:
In the third video, I share my technique for coloring tiny areas of your images:
And in the last video, I did a speed coloring of the rest of my coloring:
Here is a closer look at my coloring:
Here’s another look at my card:
That’s all for today. Thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!
