Happy Sunday! I hope you’ve been having a great weekend. Have you had any crafty time this weekend? It seems like any time there is football on, I get way more crafty time because my hubby likes to watch all the games. It gives me lots of crafty time 🙂
Since I recently pulled out my Bind It All to play, I have mini books on the brain so today I have a quick mini book to share with you.
From start to finish, this book took maybe an hour. I really didn’t want to spend a ton of time on it and jazz it up so much because it’s really just for my hubby and I. I had sooo many photos of the dogs playing with this cardboard box, and I had already made a layout using some of the photos. If I were to scrap all of these photos, I would have a huge number of pages so I decided that a mini book would be perfect instead of layout after layout.
This same style of mini book would be great for any every day occasion that you end up with lots of photos for. I think this would be a cute way to make a mini book of little kiddo’s birthday parties so that the little ones can look back and remember their fun times. Of course, you can jazz it up a lot more than I did here.
Anyway, so this little book measures 4x6inches, so I could just punch holes in the photos and use them as pages! It was just soooo easy!
For the cover, I used the One Two Three stamp set for the numbers and the coordinating SVG cut file.
For the numbers, I actually did a stamp kissing technique to make the numbers polka dotted. I used the new Small Polka Dot Background for the stamp kissing.
The 2 was done with Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ UP ink with London Fog Memento ink.
The 2 was done with Tempting Turquoise Stampin’ UP ink with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
The letters were stamped using the new Timeless Typewriter Alphabet Stamp Set. I seem to reach for this set all the time! I just can’t get over how useful and lovely it is. I hope you aren’t sick of me using it! lol.
The tiny numbers are from a Pebbles/American Crafts alpha sticker pack which is available in the SP Store. I liked this sticker set because it comes with LOTS of each number and letter. I just get so frustrated when sticker sets only have 1 or 2 of each letter/number. This set came with PLENTY to work with.
I used a 5/8inch coil for binding my book and to decorate it, I used a bunch of different ribbons: Turquoise Chevron Twill, Orange Chevron Twill, Chocolate Chip Satin, Hawaiian Shores Saddle Stitch Grosgrain, Hawaiian Shores Satin, Spring Moss Saddle Stitch Grosgrain, Celery Chevron Twill, and Yellow Chevron Twill.
I actually punched some of the holes in a few of the photos crooked so I simply chopped off the part that was crooked and punched then again. It make the photos about 1/3inch smaller than the rest so you will notice that you can see more patterned paper underneath those photos.
Below, I have narrated the story in case you can’t read my writing 🙂
Emma and Mya are extremely playful pups. They always try to play with anything. After we had a furniture delivery, we were left with this large box and naturally, the dogs were interested in it. Johnny decided to turn it into a box house. These are the photos taken of the box fun.
The weather was great so they wanted to play in the box all afternoon.
They both chased each other around the box. When their dad went inside, they went crazy playing.
Emma & Mya went in and out of the box house a countless number of times.
We laughed so hard. They were so silly with the house.
I don’t even know how 2 dogs and 1 boy fit inside the box house!
It was so hot that day. I thought the pups would tire out eventually. It turns out that we got too hot before they did so we had to bring them inside.
The pups did not want to leave their new play house!
We coaxed them back inside with treats.
2 dogs + 1 boy + 1 box makes for a really fun day.
All of the patterned papers I used are from the Simple Stories Color Vibe 6×6 paper pad.
Do you make mini books? If so, what is your favorite kind of mini book to make?
