Hi everyone! Today is the first day of January SNEAK PEEKS! For the next 5 days, I am going to share projects that I made using the new stamps that will be available starting January 10th.
I’ve decided that Saturday is going to be Scrapbook Saturday so that I can get some of my scrapping done. In 2012 I didn’t do very much scrapping so I really want to get caught up with some of it. I figure if I pick a day for it here on the blog, it will inspire me to work on my pages 🙂
Today, I am sharing a layout using our brand new alphabet stamp set! I would like to introduce you to the SP & Company Timeless Typewriter Alphabet stamp set! This alphabet stamp set is a medium size which makes it perfect for cards and scrapbook layouts.
I used this stamp set for the title on my project. I alternated pink, blue, and black ink for the title. I repeated these colors for all the rest of my layout. I actually took the colors from the pups’ harnesses from the photos.
The alphas are about 5/8inches tall, so they definitely are a nice size font. And I love the typewriter look to them! I can see these coming in handy again and again. They just look so nice & crisp when they are stamped.
The background is Kraft cardstock that I sprayed with black, pink, and blue glitter sprays. I actually used three different types of glitter inks. I happened to like them all pretty equally.
The pink spray is Art Anthology in “Heart”. It has more of a subtle shimmer to it.
The blue spray is Bahama Blue Fireworks spray. The Fireworks sprays are jam packed with glitter -so much glitter that it can sometimes be hard to even see the color.
The black is Black Velvet colored Color Shine from Heidi Swapp. This spray was kind of sparkly. It was in between the other two as far as glitter power lol.
All 3 sprays were pretty comparable as far as how they sprayed out. It was my first time using the Art Anthology and the Color Shine, but I would definitely like to purchase more colors of both.
To accent the layout, I used some element stickers from the Love Story collection kit from Echo Park, which was part of our SP December Monthly Kit.
I also added a little bit of Black Chevron twill ribbon.
The jewels, buttons, and pearls came from a few different packs:
Bo Bunny Jewels from the Sweet Tooth pack
Prima Say it in Crystals from the pack that contains orange, red, purple, etc
My Mind’s Eye The Sweetest Thing Wood and Chip Buttons pack
I just added the various embellishments randomly around the photos.
The little flag/banner was made using a sticker element also from the Love Story collection kit. I just added a toothpick and a piece of Pink Sorbet Twine from The Twinery. I will share a tutorial for this next Tuesday.
Here are some more close-ups:
The journaling says:
When we take Emma & Mya to the lake, we always have to play on the volleyball court. They both love running and digging in the sand. They end up with sandy paws & sandy noses. ~2011
All in all this layout took me about 30 minutes to put together. Not too bad! That’s all I have to share with you today. I will be back over the next few days with even more sneak peeks using January stamps. See ya tomorrow!
