I hope that you had a fun, crafty weekend at our Online Crop and Stamp Release party! I decided to extend the deadlines for all the crop challenges. You can find links to all the challenges in the sidebar. Entries are now due NEXT Monday at noon EST. Did you have a great time at the online crop? I sure did! I got quite a few projects made, and I really enjoyed all of the crafty chatter. I tend to craft alone, and my hubby isn’t into it at all so it was nice to get to chat with a bunch of you who have the same hobby 🙂 I am totally convinced that we have THE BEST crafty community out there. I am still hoping to play along with more of the challenges sometime this week.
Also, I want to remind you that the new SP DIES and SP Storage Binder system have been released. If you missed the info about our new products and our new stamps for March, click here! I am already amazed at the response from y’all about our new products! I am so glad that you are excited about them! There will be many many more new items coming out in 2013. This is just the beginning. I have a vision of where I want SP to be & we are definitely heading in the right direction. I look forward to sharing much more with you over the coming months.
PLEASE NOTE: I will have some additional videos on our new SP Storage Binder System. I am just waiting for the stamp pages to arrive & then I will explain all the ins and outs of the system and how it works.
So far, I can tell you that the SP Binders will hold up to 16 of the magnetic sheets filled with SP or other wafer thin dies. It could probably hold a couple more, but after 16, the pages don’t open up as nicely in the ring so I recommend max. 16 magnetic pages.
KIT CLUB ALMOST FULL!
Quite a few new members have signed up recently, and we are nearly SOLD OUT of all the kit options for March (aside from the Stamp Only kit). I only have one or two spots left for this month. Club kits begin shipping this week so make sure you sign up soon if you would like to receive the March kit.
Ok, now that we’ve gotten some reminders and info out of the way, I have a project to share!
Today I have a project for you that I made with the February SP Monthly Kit. I was actually inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by Amy O’Neill. I just thought it was super pretty and I pinned it to our Scrappy Awesomeness board.
Do you peruse Pinterest for paper crafty inspiration? I sure do!!
Here’s card. Full details are below:
I kept this card super clean and simple. I created a banner shape from some of the paper from the February collection which was Echo Park’s Sweet Girl collection. I added the yellow scallops to the edges of the banners. These were actually a sticker border element from that same collection.
Then I stamped the label shape from the Certified Awesome stamp set. I used a light brown ink for the dot stamp.
For the banner, I used Copics to create some shading. I used Y13 and & Y18 for this.
To make the banner shape stand out a little better, I traced the edges using my Copic multiliner.
To finish off the card, I rounded the bottom corners with my Corner Chomper.
And that was it! Super simple!
Here is another look and a close-up
