Ride ’em, Cowboy! Layout

Hi everyone! There are only a few more days until the Sneak Peeks begin for April! April 2nd is the big day.

What supplies are you most excited about? New SP Stamps, more dies, our new artist’s stamps, our new color line?

As for me, I am most excited to finally SHOW you guys!! I hate keeping everything so secretive, but I must because as I have quickly learned, things fall through or get delayed or don’t turn out the correct color. I don’t want to get you guys excited for nothing so I have to wait until everything is perfect before we release it. Well there is a lot to get excited about in our next release! 🙂

Anyway, enough chit chat. I have layout details I want to share with you. This is a layout I actually created for our online crop inspiration, but I wanted to make sure to share all the details with you.

This is another layout of my sweet little nephew and again I used the All About a Boy collection kit. All of the patterned papers and sticker elements are from this collection. I don’t have much of this collection left in the store.

I have been told that stamping and scrapping is difficult for some folks, but I don’t think it has to be difficult. My stamping on this layout was super simple – I stamped a title and I stamped a decorative label. That was all the stamping, but it just enhanced the look of the layout.  Just a little bit of stamping here and there can have such a fun look.

I used the Certified Awesome stamp set to stamp the label/banner shapes, the green polka dots inside the shape, and also the “You are Certifiably Amazing” sentiment.

For the comma and apostrophe, I used the new Big Build a Banner 1 stamp set.  For the Cowboy letters I used the Trendy Type alphabet stamp set.

I based my layout design on a layout I saw on Creative Scrappers. I LOVE all the sketches they make and I find myself turning to their sketches a lot for my scrappy inspiration. Generally my layout doesn’t look much like the sketch, but it is a jumping off point for me.

How do you start scrapping??

I start with a paper or photo and usually a sketch!

Here are some close ups:

It was a really fun layout to put together.  Have a great weekend and don’t forget to stop back by on April 2nd when we announce our brand new artist & start sneak peeks! YAY!

  1. I am just getting back to seriously being productive with my papercrafting hobby. I haven’t ordered from you before, but am seriously considering it. I love how this kit coordinates, but leaves tons of room for creativity.
