Let Your Hair Down Card -Some Odd Girl

Hi everyone!  I hope all is well with you guys!  Anything fun going on this week so far?

Not much is going on here. We are just so thrilled that hubby is DONE with grad school!! It just feels like a huge burden has been lifted.

Hubby’s final draft of his thesis was officially ACCEPTED last week so now he is working on a paper in order to get his work published (I’m so proud of my nerd man!) but other than that, not much is going on for us these days. We won’t know much on the job front for a little while, but when we know, you’ll know 🙂 I will be shouting it from the rooftop!

My mom has been home from surgery a week now and is doing really well. Just taking it very easy these days, but she is healing nicely. The grandparents went home this weekend so life has been getting back to normal again.

As for me, not much is going on. I got a new “workout” game for the Wii & I have been having a BLAST playing it this week lol. It’s called Black Eyed Peas Experience. It is just like the Just Dance games (which I love! I have 2 and 3) but much more difficult & a lot more dance moves (which I totally stink at thus far!).  Other than that, I’m just designing some products behind the scenes & packing orders. Y’all are keeping me plenty busy, which I really love.

All in all, life’s going pretty well 🙂

Anyway so today I am guesting again for Some Odd Girl and I have a CUTE CUTE image to share with you. Ok, well I love all three of the images from this release, but I think this one might be my fave. I just LURVE all that luscious hair!! Isn’t she gorgeous!! This is Rapunzel.

Color Combo challenge for this week has been canceled since I am guest designing this week, but it will be back next Wednesday.

ALL of the stamps I used on today’s card comes from this stamp set. Awesome huh?

With this card, I got very crafty! I tried something new for this card and had a bunch of fun!

I WATERCOLORED the image! Can ya believe it? Well, it is mostly watercolored. I couldn’t completely neglect my beloved Copics so I still used them a tiny bit.

I just used my SP Premium Chalk inks and then added just a bit of Copics.

To do my watercoloring, I just dabbed some ink from my ink pads onto my larger acrylic block (like I showed in THIS video, click here!), and then used an aqua painter pen to do my watercoloring. It really is super easy!!

For the watercoloring, I used the following colors:

And I just used Copics for the skin. I used E00 and E21 for the skin and then E02 for the cheeks.

I just love the look for coloring on Kraft paper. It just gives such a beautiful soft color.

And that cute little sentiment is also from this stamp set. I stamped it on some aqua cardstock and made a little banner shape by cutting the end of the cardstock.  Then I stamped the cute sentiment with Ocean Waves Chalk Ink.

And did you catch that the background is stamped too?? It is!

This stamp set comes with the cutest little flowers and leaves so I got into a stamping mess and created this background! I just repeatedly stamped the cute flowers and leaves until enough of the edges were covered.  I used Aqua Seaglass, Flamingo Pink, and Avocado Green Chalk Inks to stamp all those pretty flowers.

To finish off the card, I just slapped on a Flamingo Pink button and called it done.

So that’s it for today! If you want more Rapunzel awesomeness, you need to head over to the Some Odd Girl Blog because the DT will really impress. They got some mad talent over there.

PSSSSS. . . They are also having a fun Gallery Idol contest and guess who one of the sponsors is? Yep, yours truly 🙂

  1. Perfect sentiment for that stamp…cute card!

Was a winner ever picked for the last color combo/blog hop or are you doing that when you announce the next challenge?
