The Graduate Layout

Hi there! Today I have a layout of a soon to be graduate in our family! No, it isn’t my hubby although he is graduating from grad school very, very soon.

This is a layout of my other cousin. This is not the one with the 3 small boys, a different one! I included some sneaky peeks on this layout.

Speaking of cousins, I actually have 6 girl cousins.

It is actually funny that our generation is all girls in my family. My hubby’s generation is all boys! My mom’s generation was all boys except her. The two generations before my mom’s generation, they were all boys and 1 girl in both previous generations.

My hubby actually has 5 generations of all boys!

Isn’t it funny how generations can be boy/girl segregated like that? How do your family’s generations stack up?

I went off on a little tangent there, but I am really in a family mood lately. Scrapbooking really brings back so many loving memories of my family. My layout for today, like I said, is of my cousin who is graduating from dental hygiene school!! The whole family is so proud of her.

I used the February SP Monthly Kit on this layout, which included the Sweet Girl collection from Echo Park and the SP Sunshine Emma stamp set.

I am getting down to just some scraps so I decided to use up lots of scraps on this layout. Sometimes you can get a lot of mileage out of those scraps.

There are some sneaky peeks on here: notice those buttons? See the banners that ARE NOT part of the Big Build a Banner 1 die tools set? I also used some new inks. 🙂

The buttons are NEW! I used some Aqua SeaGlass buttons and some Flamingo Pink buttons. Aren’t they beautiful?! These two colors of buttons will be available starting April 10th.

The banner die tool is also NEW!! There are cuts from the Big Build a Banner 1 and the brand new Big Build a Banner 2 die tools set! The Big Build a Banner 1 die tools set is currently on backorder, and the Big Build a Banner 2 die tools set will be available starting April 10th. Like set #1, set #2 coordinates with a new set of SP Stamps. This is also a set of 4 dies: 2 to coordinate with banner stamps, a faux stitch banner, and a scallop banner. You will see a lot more of these banners starting really soon.

NEW Inks! There are two stamped clouds and each are different inks: The lighter cloud was stamped in Aqua SeaGlass ink. The darker cloud was stamped in Ocean Waves.

To finish off the layout, I did some journaling with a Copic Multiliner. Then I added some sticker elements and a title from the Sweet Girl collection.

Lastly, I added some cloud stamps and cut outs made using the Sunshine Emma stamp set and Die Tools set.

Some of the clouds were cut not stamped, but just cut out from patterned paper scraps. I loved that little collection of different clouds.

All in all this layout utilized lots of different scraps and bits. I just love when those little bits can be pulled together to make something fun.

Here are some closer looks:

I am going to try to make at least one more layout with this collection and then use the rest of the scraps for cards. I have been really trying lately to USE up the entire kits & so far, I haven’t had much luck doing that because they just contain so much paper/elements!! It’s my new personal challenge to use it up.

Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed my layout today. I will be back again tomorrow with yet another sneaky peek! Have a great and crafty day!
