Origami Box Grad Gift

Hey there! Happy 3D Thursday! Today I have a little graduation gift idea for you.

I actually found this little origami box on Pinterest and tracked down a lady credited on that pin’s blog post, Kathleen, & she did a video tutorial so I didn’t actually put together a scoring guide or anything to go with this 3D Thursday. Click here to go see her tutorial now!

So I created my box according to directions with a piece of green cardstock from my stash. The only thing I changed was I left off the little closure part and instead wrapped the box with a big bow so it looked more like a little present.  I used Turquoise Chevron Twill ribbon.

I then added patterned paper to the box from the On the Bright Side Two paper pad from My Mind’s Eye. The tag was also made using this paper pad.

To make the tag I just cut some of the patterned paper into a rectangle shape. I rounded the top two corners with my Corner Chomper then punched a hole for the ribbon to slide through.

The “Congratulations” banner was made using the Happy Banners stamp set and matching Die Tool. I stamped the banner shape using Avocado Green Premium Chalk Ink. I stamped the sentiment in Ocean Waves Premium Chalk Ink.

Behind the banner, I added a Flair from a set that is coming out tomorrow called V-Stripe Dudette Flair.

The little alpha stickers are from BasicGrey. I finished off the tag using some rhinestones from Prima.

Here are some additional photos:

I haven’t actually added anything to the box yet, but I am thinking of filling it with some Buncha Crunch because it is one of my hubby’s fave treats. And he just graduated from grad school 🙂

So that’s all I have to share today. I will be back tomorrow with another project. I decided to do a Frugal Friday video every other Friday. So this one is just going to be photos/text. See ya then!
