Hi everyone! Today is Tutorial Tuesday and I have an inking tutorial for you! I am having a blast with the new SP Premium Chalk Inks.
For this tutorial, I decided to try my hand at ocean waves using INK! Our new Ocean Waves and Aqua SeaGlass inks are perfect oceany colors so I really wanted to show them off and make some ocean waves with them.
Ink Applicator (a sponge, a Tim Holtz tool etc)
Ocean Waves Premium Chalk Ink
Aqua SeaGlass Premium Chalk Ink
Scrap paper (the thinner the better! I used regular printer paper) + one sheet to protect your work surface.
Rip some scrap paper into long strips. You want a rough looking edge to use as your mask.
Place your white paper onto another piece of scrap paper and lay down one of your ripped pieces about 1 inch or so up from the bottom edge of your white card stock.
Ink up your inking tool & start inking up the section of white cardstock that is showing. I added mostly Aqua SeaGlass with just a bit of Ocean Waves. In the photo below, you can see that I used different ink on each end of my tool so that I didn’t mix the inks on my ink pads.
Once you are done inking up that section. Block off another section using pieces of the ripped scrap paper to block off another section about 1inch thick. Be sure to leave a little bit of white between inked up sections.
To decorate my card, I added a sentiment from the Friends Forever stamp set from the Gill Roberts Collection.
I used the medium die from the Polariod Frames die tool to cut out the shape and then added the cloud patterned paper inside the frame.
Then I added some satin ribbon from my stash and an Aqua SeaGlass button. And that was it. I really wanted the background to shine through so I didn’t decorate the card very much.
And that’s all for today. Tomorrow will be a new Trends Challenge so I will see you then! Have a great one!!
