I am here to tell you a little bit of bad news. Recent customers should have received this letter via Email, but I just wanted to make everyone aware of this situation. I will be sending this out via newsletter also.
It has come to my attention that some of our ink pads are defective. I have had two customers come forward with defective ink pads and my personal ink pads are defective as well.
I have spoken with our manufacturer today and they have not been able to come up with an acceptable replacement plan for our ink pads so we are discontinuing our SP Chalk Ink Pad line indefinitely.
We are sorry for any frustration that this may cause. I know how important it is to have reliable crafting products and as a crafter myself, I am really upset with this quality issue. I was actually trying to do some stamping last night when I found that some of my personal ink pads were also defective. We cannot continue to offer any product we feel may be inferior so we will not be selling any more of these ink pads.
The manufacturer we chose is obviously not up to our high quality standards. In the future, we will be even more careful with the companies and products that we work with.
Offering the best quality products at affordable prices and with excellent customer service is still our #1 priority at SP.
The ink pad sold are not a safety concern, this recall is merely a quality issue. It seems that the ink may separate over time causing the ink pads to stamp non-uniformly and the ink may turn a different color than the original color. Not all ink pads are having this issue.
If you purchased any of our Premium Chalk ink pads, rest assured, that you will be receiving a full refund of your ink pad purchases, no questions asked. You may choose to keep your ink pads or discard them, but we do not want them returned.
Product issues are never a fun experience for anyone, but this one couldn’t have come at a worse time! Please be patient with me while I process the refunds as quickly as I can.
As you may know, the store is actually closed right now because my family is moving to another state. We actually close on our very first house tomorrow morning so I am going to be caught up with moving/painting/coordinating/unpacking for the rest of the week. We also will not have internet for a few days. I am actually writing this from our hotel room while we wait to get our house tomorrow! lol
Because of all this, I am going to plan on refunding for the ink pad purchases starting Monday, July 29th, and I will process the refunds as quickly as possible. If for any reason, your refund will not go through, I will issue a store credit to be used on your next purchase.
Again, I apologize for any inconvenience this problem has caused. This type of quality issue is definitely not the norm for our company. We strive to offer the best quality products at an affordable price.
