I’m actually really pleased that it is Party Week because my hubby just had his birthday over the weekend. Our usual birthday tradition, for the past almost 8 years (and actually longer than 8 years, with my mom even before J and I dated), was to go to a Japanese steakhouse that we absolutely LOVED. Well, they closed the one in Knoxville earlier this year and then we moved to IL. It was called Kanpai of Tokyo. There are 3-4 other ones around the south. I know one is in Chattanooga, TN and one is somewhere in FL. Anyway, we loved that place & nothing we have tried since has been even close to as good.
So since we just moved away anyway, we had to come up with a new tradition. Hubby decided he wanted pizza for his birthday, but I know I am not going to want pizza for my birthday (I’m not a huge pizza fan), so we still don’t have a great tradition going in our new town lol. He ended up deciding to go with Chinese take-out (which I love, but definitely not a great birthday food lol) Anyway, so that is what sparked the last question at the end of this post. We need suggestions.
Enough about birthdays, let’s talk about this birthday card 🙂
This sentiment actually came from the Birthday Family stamp set. I just think this is such a perfect sentiment for a birthday card. It definitely will make someone feel a little better if they are one of those people who don’t like celebrating their birthday or getting older. I just think “Aged to Perfection” is epic! lol.
I used the following Copic colors:
- Frosting: E27, E29, E49
- Wrapper & light flower: E50, E51, E53
- Teal areas: BG10, BG11, BG13
- Leaves: YG23, YG25, YG63
- Bee: Y08, Y15
I accented the flowers with Summer Sunset colored buttons in the center of the flowers. I thought they looked cute that way.
The patterned papers I used are actually from a Christmas paper pad from My Mind’s Eye that I picked up a while ago at a big box store. You would never know that I used Christmas papers on this card lol!
Anyway, that’s all I have for you today! I will be back at ya Wednesday for another addition to the Organize your Scrap Room mini series. I’m excited to share more of my room with you. Have a great day & catch ya later!
