Week 11 Tutorial – Faux Photo Overlays

Hey everyone!

I hope you are doing well on this lovely Friday! It’s actually not so lovely here. We’ve had lots of thunderstorms lately. I hope soon we will get some nice springy weather. Is it spring yet in your area? If so, I am jealous! I am ready 🙂

How to Create Faux Overlays in Photoshop Tutorial

So today, I actually have TWO tutorials popping up. This first one is my “official” Week 11 Tutorial. In the video below, I walk you through how I made those cool faux overlays on my photos that I showed you in my Week 11 Project Life Process (click here to go to that now!).

I used Photoshop CS5. I think you can probably do the same thing with any Photoshop version (and probably many other photo editing programs out there). The buttons are just going to be in different places, but the same basic steps are about the same.

I love this technique because you have SO MUCH MORE creative freedom than you do with transparency overlays you purchase. Plus, if you already have a photo editing program, it’s free 🙂

So that’s it! I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial.

Would you like to see more Photoshop tutorials in the future? Let me know in the comments section below! I have a couple more planned, but I am not sure if this is something y’all are really interested in or not. Just let me know!

I’ll be back in a bit with my second tutorial for today! See you soon!
