Silhouette Cameo Care Basics, How to Replace Blade & Resticky Cameo Mats

Hey everyone!

Today is the last part of the Silhouette Cameo for Beginners mini series. Starting next Wednesday I will start a very highly requested mini series & answer a lot the most common questions that keep popping up! I will reveal it in one week 🙂

Silhouette Cameo Basic Care, How to REplace Blades, & Resticky your mat

To end this Cameo mini series, I wanted to talk to you about caring for your machine & replacing the blades & mats. I offer some tips for how to extend the life of these items.

Watch on Youtube

There’s one tip I forgot to mention in the video: replace that blue paper back over your mat when you are done & don’t leave the sticky part of your mat exposed to the air. If you leave the mat exposed when not in use, it will get dust particles on it & it won’t stay as sticky. Hang on to those blue pieces and use ’em!

I hope that you enjoyed this video series! What Cameo tutorials do you want to see next? Let me know in the comments section below & I will try to make it happen.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a lovely day!!

  1. I want to know how often do you need to replace the blade?

I am seriously considering purchasing the Cameo 3 for use as a hobby, I want to be prepared for how often parts on the Cameo 3 needs replaced. Will it become more expensive in replacement parts and not worth the investment? Inquiring minds want to know.

    Thanks for your response.

    1. Not very often at all! You need to replace the sticky mats more often, but there are hacks to where you can make them last longer. I use a spray called EasyTack to resticky my mats. I’ve used the same 2 mats for years. I think I’ve had to change my blade out maybe once or twice.
