Epson PictureMate Charm Photo Printer Unboxing & First Impressions

Hey everyone!

I’m a bit behind on my process video filming this week so I am going to try to have Week 17 for you over the next couple of days. In the meantime, I still will have a post for you guys every day 🙂 Today, I want to talk about the Epson PictureMate Charm compact photo printer!

I have been getting my photos printed at Walgreens, but it just wasn’t working for me that well. The price just can’t be beat, but I had some troubles with it: 1. If I forgot a photo, I had to wait a week or head back to the store. 2. The quality wasn’t always as great as I wanted. 3. I had to wait until the end of a week to get my photos printed & then drive to the store. (This was especially a problem during winter when there were at least 3 different weeks in which I couldn’t leave the house & get my photos in a timely manner on account of snow storms!). 4. I really like the idea of working on my PL sporadically during the week & it is much harder to do that without the photos (it can be done, just not as easily!).

So that lead me to research photo printers! And that lead me to finally purchasing the Epson PictureMate Charm!

Once I have time to play around the the printer more, I will tell you much more about the printer I got & hopefully do a few tutorials for you. For now, I will tell you that I decided to go with the Epson PictureMate Charm. I had narrowed it down between that one & the Canon Selphy. I read up on both & ultimately decided on the PictureMate Charm in part because of this very informative article from Kerri Bradford.

In this video, I talk about my top 3 reasons for choosing the PictureMate Charm over the Selphy. Then I unbox the printer & do my first print! In all, it took me under 20 minutes to get up and printing, partially because I was talking a lot 🙂 I’d guesstimate that I could have been printing within 10 minutes if I wasn’t filming.

At first impression, going from memory card to print is very intuitive & easy. The printing is pretty quick, & the quality is superb! I’m really happy with my choice so far.

Like I said before, I will have a more in depth review of the printer once I have a chance to really dig in & learn all about it. I hope this initial review gives you some good info about the printer. Have a lovely day!
