Party Animal Birthday Card + Treat Bag

Hey everyone!

I forgot that I had this cute little birthday set to share with you this week so I am going to have my Project Life video on Friday.

This little gift set was something I made recently for my friend’s son who turned 3! He had just been to the zoo & loved the animals so I thought that wild animals would be a good theme to go with. And sure enough, when we went out to lunch, he was wearing a shirt with wild animals on it 🙂

I whipped up this little gift set in maybe 20 minutes. It went together really quickly. Children seem to love a personalized little treat and it is so easy to make something simple for a child to put a smile on his/her face. Seriously, it was as simple as 3 Oreo cookies & he definitely enjoyed it.

My photos aren’t the best, but you still get the idea!

For privacy reasons I took the photos before I put his name on the treat bag. I had added his name with some mini alphas from Echo Park right after taking the photos.

For the card & treat bag, I started off cutting out two of the label shapes with my Big Shot. These are from a nesting dies set from Stampin’ UP. I used the largest one for the baggie topper & one of the medium ones for the card front.

The stamping and inking was all done with Stampin’ UP inks: Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, and Chocolate Chip. I personally love this color combo, especially for boys (although I would probably use it for a girl too because it’s so pretty lol).

To do the inking on the edges of the shape and for the “grass”, I used Wild Wasabi with the Tim Holtz ink applicator tool. I have the old rectangular shaped one but I have heard awesome things about the new mini one that is round. It’s definitely on my wish list. One of my crafty friends mentioned that she doesn’t get any harsh lines with it since it is rounded vs rectangular. Sometimes I still get a harsh line here and there so it would be nice to have the other ink applicator. Which applicator do you have/prefer?

The cute little animal stamps are a stamp set from Stampin’ UP called Zoo Babies.

The ribbon I used is from Stampin’ UP but it’s long retired. It’s Wild Wasabi striped grosgrain.

The card base is Pacific Point cardstock, also Stampin’ UP. Sensing a brand loyalty here? LOL

The bag topper and the sentiment label shape were both cut from Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream cardstock. I scored the bag topper in half with my Martha Stewart score tool.

The sentiment stamp is one of my SP and Company sentiments that is retired.

And that’s it for this card & treat bag.  I hope you have a great day!!
