My Planner Overview & Organization 2015

Hey everyone!

I’m a little early on the planner thing this year, but I thought with baby on the way, it’s best to be early for this type of thing. Today’s video is SUPER long, but I’ve included an index underneath the video so you can jump around to any parts that you want to see. You just have to click over to Youtube & check the description box below the video to jump around.

Today, I’m talking all about the planner I will be using for 2015! Wow, it is hard to believe we’re already talking about a new year, isn’t it?!

For 2015, I decided to go with a customizable spiral bound style planner called Plum Paper Planner (PPP). I had checked out other options and just nothing seemed as perfectly customizable as the PPP. I’m totally excited about my new planner & I’ve already started using it & getting it ready since it starts in December 2014. Check out my video below to hear the reasons why I picked the PPP over other brands like Filofax, Arc, or Erin Condren. I also show the entire planner up close and personal & talk about all the possible customizations & options that you have when ordering a PPP.

Included in this video is a coupon code AND a giveaway! WOOP WOOP!

  1. Your review on the Plum Paper Family Planner was very helpful. The detail you went into helped me realize I made a great decision going with the family planner also.

  2. I am a nail tech/stay at home mommy and I use a 12 month daytimer. I am looking for something prettier (lol) and more customizable and your video and blog post were a great help 🙂

  3. I’m currently using a planner that I made from printables, but it’s too many different colors and designs and it doesnt quite go. I do like the pp planner layout and colors.

  4. I just got my 2015 Family Planner from Plum Paper. I finally said goodbye to my fiLofa and I’m so excited to use my PPP. The only thing I thought I would miss is the ability to “stash” stuff but this sweet little pouch would totally solve that problem! Love it!!

  5. Thanks for your review Sami! I am currently not using a planner but am trying to find one I like for 2015. I am looking at personal planner and plum paper! I really like PPP so I will probably go with them! And the planner pouch is so cute!

  6. I’m currently using a arc planner. Im really thinking about switching to the plum planner. I think that planner would be great for my family. Thank you so much for sharing your planner with us. I can’t wait to see how you use it!

  7. Thanks so much, love the video and have ordered my planner. Your code really helped with the shipping to Australia 🙂

  8. I use the Plum paper planner also! Just got it a couple of days ago and love love love it already!!! Thanks for your review!

  9. I’m currently using a A5 Domino Filofax because I love rings as a day to day planner and i’m using Cocoa Daisy Inserts because they are so pretty.
I also carry a passport size fauxdori as a wallet. I keep my credit cards, receipts, brain dump and quotes that I see and love.

  10. Currently I am using a Daytimer Family Plus. I really do like my Daytimer but I have been watching Facebook and how people use their planners and found Erin Condren and Plum Paper Planners. So for 2015 I purchased a Plum Paper planner because of the customization that she offers and you get more for your money in comparison to the refills for the Family Plus planner. I don’t know if I am going to miss the style of the FP but I look forward to trying out the Plum Paper style and hearing from you on your tips and tricks. Thanks for the video of your planner.

  11. Currently I’m using a regular A5 office planner binder with some printed out calendar inserts. On the go I’m using a small spiral calendar. I recently bought a Filofax Flex in pocket size and I’m still thinking how to use it 🙂

  12. Sami,
I love the planner cover that you chose for your PP. I have been using my regular Plum Paper planner since September and I am loving it. Thank you for the opportunity to win something.

  13. Hello, I am a newbie to all this world of organisation at 28 unfortunately 🙁 …. And I have started this by buying a Filofax Finsbury personal size…so now I am on everywhere a planning system is mentioned or where people just share their planning routines 🙂

I will definitely check on your tips and tricks as you said you will do 😉
    Thanks and Bye

  14. I wish I knew about this planner before the erin condren! Looks like a great planner. I probably will check up the other styles! Can’t wait to see more planner videos!

  15. Forgot to mention what kind of planner I use! I’ve got 2 planners at the moment. One is my study planner to help keep track of my study habits and make me feel guilty when I don’t get any work done. I think it’s a5 size. The other is smaller than a6 and I use it to keep track of my days because I have such a terrible memory! I also like that I can slip it into almost any bag I’m using cause it’s so small!

Both are from a super cute art/crafts shop here in the UK called Paperchase.

  16. I’ve been eyeing up Plum Paper Planners since this summer. I love how customisable it is too! It’s so much more affordable than the Erin Condren and I agree that the inside is nicer too! The only thing I don’t like about it is the cover. They look quite cheap in my opinion. They could look a lot better!

Even so, I might treat myself to one of these when I graduate next year 🙂

    1. I have been using the Arc planner and it is working for me. I purchased your Today and Monthly calendars and the Projedt Life printables from your store. You don’t have these anymore? I am going to try to design my own as maybe an addon for keeping track of my blood sugar readings as I am a newly diagnosed Type-2 Diabetic and the doctor wants me to monitor my blood sugar daily for now. Love the new planner and how it is customizable…will have to take a look at it as I am hooked on the Arc for now. Love the fact that I can keep track of my water intake as well.

  17. I have a Plum Paper Family Planner on order. However, currently I use a Day Runner Windsor with Franklin Covey calendar inserts and a Moleskine notebook for my master task list (bullet journal).

I so agree with you about the Erin Condren colors. I hear people raving about how much they like the colorful pages and I think some of them are just downright gaudy. For me, colors in my planner are clues, so I don’t want a lot of crazy competing colors.

That’s the only planner pouch I’ve ever seen that I thought was really functional. I’m going to check out her Etsy shop. Also, loving the pictures of your furbabies on the sidebar. 🙂

  18. I currently use a Daytimer. I used to use the Plum Paper student planner and am still trying to finish it off in my A5 but it just didn’t suit me. I LOVE the plum paper but the vertical layout was just very confusing for me to just quickly glance at something.

  19. I currently use a Franklin Covey planner with inserts I’ve printed Etsy I am planning to purchase a Plum Planner for 2015. After watching your video, I am definitely going to go with the Plum Planner. I have been going back and forth about whether to go with the Erin Condren or the Plum but you have helped me make up my mind. Thank you.

  20. I have an Erin Condren Planner, but I definitely agree with you about the cons’ of her planner. I am so excited about this pouch though. I recently noticed it on another planner fan I follow. If I don’t win, I will definitely be purchasing one!

  21. I just got the notification that my PPP shipped today! What a great video you did – I am SO EXCITED for mine to come! 🙂

  22. Oh, and now that I’ve seen the giveaway on the bottom (LOL), I currently use a May Designs planner, plus a lesson planning system using a sheet I designed, but the combo isn’t working for me, so I just ordered a PPP teacher planner and it also starts in December! So excited!!!

  23. I already commented on the youtube video, but I loved seeing the pouch in action! It made me want one! I’m nervous about just sticking my planner in my bag with everything else, so an extra layer of protection would be nice, especially since it’s so CUTE!!!

  24. Thanks for another great post Samantha. I’m using a planner from a stationary store here in Ireland – it’s fine but I love seeing all the planners people get from the US – they always look fabulous! I’m hoping to maybe order a custom planner for next year or the year after, once I settle on a planner I like best. 🙂

  25. I also have a PPP and LOVE it. I actually get more done because I want to write stuff in my planner and then check it off. Decorating each week is a bonus!

  26. I am currently using a planner I splurged on from Erin Condren, however, I must say that I love all of the customization you can do with the Plum Paper Planner. The more I hear about it, the more I want to try it!!
Thanks for sharing and for the chance to win a great case!
    Take care!

  27. How fun and informative! Happy Thanksgiving. I use a planner i got off Amazon w/ pictures of Downton Abbey scenes in it.

  28. I just received a Plum Paper Family Planner this past week and I already love it! I also have a bullet journal that I made (because I love to make my own notebooks).

  29. I am relieved that someone else thinks that the EC colours don’t match! But for me, that wasn’t the issue as much as the price and the international shipping costs! Love the one you picked! I already ordered my Filofax before I hear about the Plum Planners, so maybe if everybody keeps raving about them all through the year I’ll get one for next year 🙂 Thanks for a chance at this giveaway. That’s very sweet of you!

  30. thank you for the video. you and i have similar views on the PPP vs the ECLP. I am so excited to receive my planner next month. Being in the military, a college student and a mom to a busy 2 year old i need something to keep me organized. i hope its the solution to my chaos lol

  31. I am not currently using a planner. But in the past I have used ones from Wal-Mart. And they usually worked for me. But since I have been a lot busier then usually this nice size would be great. I have looked into their planners. Thanks for the chance to win.
