Today I have a Freckled Fawn layout to share with you. I really loved the floral themed items in this month’s kit so I decided to use them with this paper I recently purchased. I found some really cute photos that worked well with the pink from the FF kit so I went with lots of pink for my layout.
I was really glad that one of the cork words fit perfectly for a title! I sometimes have trouble incorporating the word embellishments like the cork shapes into my layouts. I usually have a title picked out well before I go to embellish & then I’m unable to use them in my title. But I wasn’t really dead set on a title when I was working on the layout & the cork word inspired the rest of my title. I always think the word embellishments are super cute & I especially loved the scripty font of these so I was really glad to be able to use one with my photos.
I ended up using a sketch as my jumping off point. I just searched on Pinterest for scrapbook sketches. Using sketches is one of my absolute favorite jumping off points for scrapbooking. It’s a tool that I think can really get the creativity flowing. I had a lot of fun using the slanted part of the design.
Most of my embellishments came from this month’s kits, except the lace trim & the alphas I used for the Tootsies part of the title. The lace trim is hand’s down one of my FAVORITE ITEMS EVER! It’s from a past FF kit & I’ve almost used up the whole roll. I’ve used it on probably 10 layouts already. I can’t get enough of it.
For adhering the loose embellishments, I used Tombow multi adhesive (it’s the liquid adhesive that comes in a white bottle with a green cap). This stuff is one of my favorites because it has a strong bond & it works great for pretty much anything I’ve tried to use it on. It worked great on the flower & wood veneers.
