Welcome Baby Card + Banner Tutorial

Hi everyone!! It is sneak peek week, but there is also an SP Trends Challenge today. My sneak peek project goes with today’s challenge, it is a two for one.  🙂

Here’s my card:

I created my adorable little baby banner card using the March SP Monthly kit papers, which are from the Echo Park Bundle of Joy Boy collection. I cut out the banners using some of the new Big Build a Banner 2 Die Tools. I then attached some sticker letters from the monthly kit to the banner layer.

The Welcome letters were made using the Big Build a Banner 1 and 2 stamps (the uppercase letters are part of set #1 and the lowercase are part of set #2. Set #2 also contains numbers).

Here is a little photo tutorial showing you how I added the twine (Honeydew, from The Twinery), It was pretty easy and I am sure when you see it, you will be thinking “wow, that was easy!” All it takes is some Micro Glue Dots or similar style adhesives.

Get some micro glue dots or similar style adhesive. You can use a strong liquid adhesive for this but you will have to hold your twine down longer.
Attach micro glue dots to every corner of the banners.
Start with the end of your twine & attach the twine down on the micro glue dots.
“Pinch” or roll up the extra parts of the glue dots that are showing around the twine.
Create bows separately & attach a micro glue dot to the center of the bows.
Add bow to the ends of the twine banner.

And here’s one last look at the finished card:

I hope you enjoyed it. I will be back with additional sneaky peeks all week long and don’t forget to join in on the SP Trends Challenge #7 (link in the sidebar)!

Huge Congrats! Card

Hi everyone!!

Today, I have a card to share with you using the March SP Monthly Kit. I found a card via Pinterest by Connie Collins that I used as my inspiration. I pinned it to the SP Pinterest board called “Scrappy Awesomeness”.

Her card was a spring card, but I loved the layout design so I used that on my card.

Aside from the monthly kit, I also used the Happy Banners stamp set and Die Tool to make this card.

First I embossed the light brown cardstock with an embossing folder from my stash. Then I layered some patterned papers from the monthly kit, which are from the Echo Park Bundle of Joy Boy collection.

After I got all the layers on the card, I added a big bow using some Celery chevron twill ribbon. To get the bow to be turned perpendicular to the pieces of ribbon (the bow and the ribbon around the card form a plus sign rather than having them right on top of eachother), I had to tie a knot into the ribbon before I made the bow.

Then I cut out this decorative shape and owl element sticker.

The last thing I did was make the banner. I used the Happy Banner stamp set to make the banner and sentiment. Then I cut out the layer using the matching Die Tool. I added it to my card and then added some adhesive pearls.

And that was it!

Here are some more photos of my card:

Ah, I just love that banner!!  Anyway, so that is it for today! I will be back tomorrow with a scrapbook layout for ya. See you soon & have a fabulous day!

SP Color Combo #138

Hi everyone!

How is your week going so far? Mine has been going pretty well thus far. I’m just trying to get ready for our SNEAK PEEK WEEK that begins next Tuesday, but I snuck in a couple of new products onto this card too. I’ve been getting very crafty lately 🙂 How about you?

Today, I have a clean and simple card to go along with this week’s SP Color Combo. I actually have some sneak peeks on this card too. Can you spot them??

Full details will come next week. Y’all are going to LOVE the new Scrapmaster’s Paradise in Color! line of products. I have been working hard to find the best of the best that’s out there. EEK. Next week is going to be so much fun sharing every little detail with you!!

Anyway, so let’s get to the color combo. Here it is:

Our SP Color Combo rules are simple:
*SP & Company Stamps are required on your project. Don’t own any of our fabulous stamps yet? Well, then head to the store and check us out! Our stamps start at $1.99! We also offer a couple of freebie digital stamps as well so everyone can play along.
*Projects must be NEWLY CREATED just for our challenge (no backlinking & please link to us so we know you are really playing along).

CARD DETAILS
I used patterned papers and the teddy bear sticker from the March SP Monthly Kit for this one. These came from the Echo Park Bundle of Joy Boy collection.

The scallop heart and decorative heart stamps are both from the Artsy Heartsy stamp set.

The It’s a Boy! stamp is from the Hello, World! Baby Announcement Builder stamp set. This set is good for lots of baby cards.

The kraft cardstock is cut at 4X5.25inches and then popped up with dimensional adhesive so that it pops off of the dark brown cardstock.

To finish off the card, I added a button with some twine.

If you are in the SP Kit Club, have you had a chance to rip into your March Kit? What do you think of these papers so far? I seriously LOVE them. I especially love the graphic patterns that could be used for ANYTHING. I tend to love the graphic/geometric style patterns much better in most cases.

Now it is your turn to test out this color combo and see what you can come up with. Entries are due April 2nd at noon EST. I will pick one random winner to win a $10 gift certificate to the SP Store!! WOOP WOOP!! Enter below:
