Soak Up the Sun Layout

Hey everyone!

I have a layout to share with you today using the April SP Kit. I had a lot of fun making this one because I pulled out a tool I haven’t been using very much -my electronic die cutter (Cricut).

All the papers & embellishments used are from the A Perfect Summer collection from Echo Park. This collection was part of the April SP monthly kit.

I also used a stamp from the Summer Fun Sentiments mini set for one of the tags next to the photo. I just stamped it on a strip of patterned paper from the kit. I stamped it using the new Ocean Waves Premium Chalk Ink Pad. It matched the papers really well.

In addition to what came with the monthly kit, I used the following other items from the same Echo Park collection: Decorative brad, chipboard shapes, and an Orange/Teal solid paper. All of these additions are available in the SP Store now.

The sun, pail/bucket, and beach ball were all die cut from the Simply Charmed cartridge. Sun @ 3inches, pail/bucket @ 3.5inches, and beach ball @ 2inches.

To cut out the shapes I used a mixture of patterned papers and cardstocks. The one cool thing I did was I cut the sand layer out using WHITE cardstock and then I inked up the shape using our new Sandcastle Chalk Ink Pad. I just LOVE THIS COLOR! It is the perfect sandy color. I also added a little bit of doodling along the sandy layer with a white gel pen.

Here are some close-ups:

I really liked how this layout turned out overall. This collection is one of my fave summery collections that I have used. Maybe I love it so much because I am ready for summer 🙂

Anyhoo. . . That’s all for today! I will catch you tomorrow with another Sunday Scoop. I will have some good things to talk about for this Sunday Scoop so stay tuned! Have a great one!

Hoppy Easter Layout

Hi everyone!  Hoppy Scrapbook Saturday. He he, get it? HOPPY! 🙂

You guessed it! My layout today is Easter themed. I actually made this layout a LOOONG time ago for Glue Dots for an ad they were putting together. I wanted to make something very very special for them so I made this.

That is me with the handsome little guy I used to babysit. I have known this guy since he was two years old, and now he is almost 14!! He’s like my little brother.

While we were out one day, I made him pose with these bunny ears. You can probably tell, he was NOT pleased. He was probably 6-7 in these photos, I forget what year this was. Anyway, this is one of my favorite photos of us.

Spellbinders Classic Petal Edgeabilities

1. Cut Yellow Patterned Paper with Spellbinders Petal Edgeabilities. Cut patterned papers for background & assemble layers of patterned paper onto Fountain cardstock using XL Glue Dots.
2. Mat photos onto light green cardstock using Mini Glue Dots.
3. Cut out and assemble bunny border & grass border out of patterned paper & cardstock using the Cricut Expression, Seasonal Cake Art Cartridge, and Mini Glue Dots. Attach borders to the top of the layout using XL Glue Dots. Cut XL Glue Dots in half if needed.
4. Cut out and assemble large bunny out of patterned paper & cardstock using the Cricut Expression, Create a Critter Cartridge, and Mini Glue Dots. Attach large bunny to the layout using Pop-Up Glue Dots.
5. Cut out and assemble letters to make the word “Easter” out of patterned paper & cardstock using the Cricut Expression, Don Juan Cartridge, and Mini Glue Dots. Attach the letters using Mini Glue Dots for every other letter. For the other letters, use Pop-Up Glue Dots (so every other letter is raised up).
6. Add small alphabet stickers to make the word “Hoppy” right above the large Easter word.
7. Stamp Easter Bunny Sentiment to the grass border.

Here is a close up so you can see the alternating raised letters:

This layout gets me in the mood for Easter fun!

Whimsy Stamps Publication

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!

It’s Copic day around here so I have an extra special treat for you! While I was on the MarkerPop design team, I was asked to create a project for the Whimsy Stamps Magazine. Of course I said yes! I absolutely ADORE Denise (the owner of Whimsy Stamps) & so I made an extra extra special project for the magazine. This was published in an issue this past summer and I couldn’t be more excited about my little project!

I am sharing that project with you today 🙂

I made this project a while ago, but you can still see all the project details in the online magazine version of their publication.

I am on page 36 :)
