Shine On Card

Hey everyone!

I’ve got a project for ya today!  I colored this image on our vacation awhile ago and just got around to posting this one. The card is very simple and easy, but the coloring and this image is what really makes this card.

I think that if you have a killer image, you don’t need a lot on your card other than that.

So I used this amazing Skating Girl and coordinating die tool from the Gill Roberts Collection for SP and Company.

I stamped, then die cut, THEN colored. That way I didn’t have to worry about a misaligned cut after I spent all that time and ink on the image.

I used the following Copic colors:

  • For the skin: E00, E21, E02
  • For the hair: E57, E59, E49
  • For the clothing: BG75, BG57, BG49, BG53, BG45, Y38, Y17

This patterned paper and the sticker alphas were just from my stash.

Well that’s all I’ve got to share with you today folks! I will catch ya again soon!

Hey, Girl, U Rock! Card

Hey everyone! No Frugal Friday & no New Flair today. I have been working ahead on the blog and just plain didn’t get a chance to film one for ya this week. Instead I have a quick and simple card for ya! This card fits into my 5 Minute card series because it took about 5 minutes from start to finish. This card was a mixture of scrap stash elements and some new SP goodies!

This card uses some of the papers from the Dots & Stripes Bundle of Joy Girl collection.

I used the Timeless Typewriter Alphabet Die Tools to make the “Hey Girl” part of this title. The U Rock is from the Mini Card Creations II stamp set. I stamped the sentiment in Sandcastle Premium Chalk Ink.

The rest of the card was decorated with a bunch of enamel dots from my stash. These are from My Mind’s Eye. I was just trying to use up a bunch of them without making the card look too cluttered. This card was made in order to do some de-stashing 🙂

So that’s it! I wish you a happy start to your weekend and I will catch ya back here tomorrow with a layout using the May SP Kit. Have a great one!!

Make a Splash Card

Hey everyone!

IMG_8851 copy

Today I have a Copic project to share with you for Copic Monday. I just want to remind you that I will be away this week so orders will not ship until NEXT Monday, June 3rd.

I used the super cute Inner Tube Girl from the Gill Roberts Collection for SP and Company. Next Monday I will have a coloring tutorial based on this card.

The patterned paper I used came from the Splash collection from Echo Park, but I think I am all sold out of the 6×6 now. There are some of the loose 12x12s left. I pulled all my Copic colors from that adorable fish paper.

I of course colored this with Copics 🙂

The sentiment is from the Summer Fun Sentiments stamp set and I stamped it using Ocean Waves Premium Chalk Ink.

Looking back at this card now, I think it could have used a couple of buttons or rhinestones to give it some dimension. Since this one is so flat, it will be perfect to mail out and it will only need one postage stamp.  Do you ever look back at a project and then see something extra you could have added to it??
