Start to Finish Card: 1 Layout, 2 Occasions

Hey everyone! Happy Monday to ya!

The past couple weeks I’ve really tried to get into the craft room most days. With a newborn, I feel like I really need that creative “me time”. But then a lot of the time I feel like just vegging out on the couch & not doing much of anything once the housework is all done! LOL I’m trying to make it a priority because it makes me happy!

Anyhoo, so really quick before Mother’s Day, hubby asked if I had any Mother’s Day cards made & I didn’t so he gave me a great excuse to get crafting! He was happy to play with Olivia while I had some fun. This card was the result.

Well since it was passed Mother’s Day, I felt like it was kinda lame to show you guys just a Mother’s Day card. So instead, I turned this Mother’s Day card, into a Congratulations card! In this video, I walk you through step by step how I made this card & offer some tips on the Big Shot + some tips on even more options with this card layout I am using. Enjoy!

Here are some closeups of my congrats card.

And that is it! I really love when I find a simple card layout that is super versatile like this one! I actually used a very similar layout on another card I made recently which I will try to share with you soon.

Have a lovely day!

Unfortunately, the labels dies I mentioned in the video seem to already be sold out. Sorry about that!

Happy Mother’s Day Card + Start to Finish Process Video

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday!

Now don’t get too excited, but one of my goals for May is to try to have not one but TWO blog posts/videos per week up for you guys! I’ve really been missing my crafting so I am trying to make it more of a priority to get into my craft room & get some projects made.

Today I made a Mother’s Day card and I have a process video to go along with it.

I ended up using quite a few Stampin’ UP items that will be retiring at the beginning of June when the new catalog comes out.

Here’s a list of the products I used that will be retiring:

  • Coastal Cabana Twine
  • Coastal Cabana Ink Pad
  • Coastal Cabana Card Stock
  • Strawberry Slush Ink Pad
  • Strawberry Slush Twine
  • Strawberry Slush Card Stock
  • Scallop Edge Border Punch

I am really bummed that these In Colors from 2013-2015 are retiring. I absolutely LOVE the two I used on my card today: Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush. With my obsession with all things pink and aqua, these two colors are right up my alley. I hope the new In Colors coming out are just as gorgeous.

Anyhoo, I think this is the first card I have made since having Olivia. I don’t think it has really been that long, but I felt a little rusty! I really need to get crafting more often lol.

All in all, I am really happy with how this card turned out. I really love the chunky twine bow at the top. I really hope that Stampin’ UP does this chunky twine in more colors. The current colors will be retiring.
