Dirty Dogs Scrapbook Layout

Hey everyone!

I’m sharing a layout I made recently while having a crafty day with one of my girlfriends. I had a lot of fun making this layout while chit chatting and laughing with a friend. Do you enjoy scrapping with friends or do you like lone scrapping better?

I prefer scrapping together sometimes but I definitely have the problem of chatting way more than scrapping most of the time 🙂

These photos are of my doggies getting muddy. When we lived in East TN, they would get so muddy sometimes when it would rain a bunch. I snapped some photos of them getting particularly muddy way back in 2006.

This layout started with a sketch from Creative Scrappers. This is their last sketch challenge, and I am totally bummed about it! They have been my favorite scrapbook sketch site for a long time!! My finished layout didn’t end up looking much like the sketch.

I used the following patterned papers: Studio Calico Here & There collection called “Charlotte”, Echo Park Dots & Stripes “Mango” & “Quartz”, and My Mind’s Eye Chalk Studio “Chalk Talk” paper. These are all much older papers, but you may be able to find them online somewhere. I really loved the greyish dots papers. The vellum with white printed lines is from a past Studio Calico kit.

For the lightest grey patterned paper, I used Smoky Slate ink from Stampin’ UP with a sponge dauber to ink up the edges. For the darker grey patterned paper, I used the Stampin’ UP Basic Gray ink with a sponge dauber.

The teal patterned paper is just a scrap I have had for a while. I am not sure where it is from, but I think it is from American Crafts textured cardstock.

To decorate my layout, I used some enamel dots from Studio Calico and Freckled Fawn. I also used an orange clip from Studio Calico, a cute little heart from Freckled Fawn, and a misc bone paper clip from my stash (a dear friend sent me that! SO cute!!).

For the title I used some Thickers from my stash along with some tiny alphas from Studio Calico.

Finally, I did my little journaling with a Project Life pen (I prefer the .5mm point).

And that’s it for this layout. I hope you enjoyed it! I had a lot of fun making this one.

Just Chillin’ Scrapbook Layout

Hey everyone!

Today I just have a quick layout to share with you. I recently started sorting through some photos that I found in a random box so I have been inspired to get some of them scrapped. This photo is of Bella and me way back in 2006. She was still very much a puppy at this time, although she was very large lol.

I am sure I have a copy of this photo on a backup CD or drive somewhere but I didn’t feel like trying to find it and edit out the red eye. Maybe I will just buy a red eye pen at some point because I know I have some older photos with red eye in them also. Anyhoo, here are all the details about how I put this layout together.

All the patterned paper I used for this one is from the Fine and Dandy collection from Echo Park. The yellow patterned paper needed a little something so I inked up the edges with a Stampin’ UP Sponge Dauber and some Pumpkin Pie ink. It just made the yellow stand out a little bit better against the lighter blue background.

The overall design of this layout was inspired by a sketch from Creative Scrappers.

The title was made out of some striped chipboard letters that I got in a Freckled Fawn kit over the past few months. I finally found a good project to use them on. They are really cute, but just not the normal colors I am drawn to using.

I added a few other embellishments to be page including a tag from Elle’s Studio, some Freckled Fawn items, and some Echo Park brads.

And that was it. All in all, this layout came together quite quickly & I really liked the color combo.

In fact, I liked the color combo so much, I made another SP Everyday Color Combo swatch for ya. Feel free to pin, like, use, and share this color combo swatch. Let me know if you use it on a project by giving me a link to your project. I would love to see you using the Everyday Color Combos 🙂

PLEASE NOTE: The color combo #’s are out of order because I already scheduled two other projects using color combos (#3 and #4) for during my post partum period. I hope to keep the numbers in order in the future lol

Anniversary Ian Card

Hey everyone!

Up today, I’ve got an anniversary card to share. Recently hubby and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary so I needed to make a card to give to him. I already had a different card for him to give to me.

I played along with this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch.

To create this card, I pulled out this adorable Heart Ian that I got recently from The Greeting Farm. I colored him in with the following Copic marker colors:

  • For the coat: BG45, BG49
  • For the heart: BG10, BG11
  • For the pants, shoes, & shadow: C3, C5, C7
  • For the scarf: R00, R11
  • For the skin: E00, E21, E02
  • For the hair: E34, E35, E37, E47

The cardstock I used is from Stampin’ UP: Pink Pirouette and Coastal Cabana.

The patterned papers are a combo of Lawn Fawn Let’s Polka 6×6 paper pad and Crate Paper Fourteen 6×6 paper pad.

The sentiment was a stamp from my stash & I stamped it using Stampin’ UP Strawberry Slush ink.

The teal ribbon is an older ribbon I’ve had in my stash forever.
