Anniversary Ian Card

Hey everyone!

Up today, I’ve got an anniversary card to share. Recently hubby and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary so I needed to make a card to give to him. I already had a different card for him to give to me.

I played along with this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch.

To create this card, I pulled out this adorable Heart Ian that I got recently from The Greeting Farm. I colored him in with the following Copic marker colors:

  • For the coat: BG45, BG49
  • For the heart: BG10, BG11
  • For the pants, shoes, & shadow: C3, C5, C7
  • For the scarf: R00, R11
  • For the skin: E00, E21, E02
  • For the hair: E34, E35, E37, E47

The cardstock I used is from Stampin’ UP: Pink Pirouette and Coastal Cabana.

The patterned papers are a combo of Lawn Fawn Let’s Polka 6×6 paper pad and Crate Paper Fourteen 6×6 paper pad.

The sentiment was a stamp from my stash & I stamped it using Stampin’ UP Strawberry Slush ink.

The teal ribbon is an older ribbon I’ve had in my stash forever.

Wedding Wishes Card

Hey everyone! I am back again & this time, with a project to share 🙂  If you missed the new weekly giveaway, please be sure to check that out (click here!).

Today, I am playing along with the MarkerPop Coloring Challenge #9, which is to do some paper piecing along with your shading. I hope you will play along with us this week!

I chose to paper piece this lovely bride stamp from the I DO stamp set by The Greeting Farm.  The design team also showed off some creative uses for Washi Tape. I chose to make some cute borders on my card using the Washi Tape.

Sometimes, especially if I am in a creative rut, I find it really helpful to play along with challenges because it really helps give me a starting point. From there, it is much easier to design your own cards. Do you use challenges as a starting off point for your creations?

ENABLER ALERT: This stamp set is currently marked down to $10!! It comes with TWO cute greeting farm people so that makes them $5 each, plus it comes with two sentiments. *sigh* Such a good deal!  They are wedding people, but I am already trying to think of other uses –the formal little guy could be used for regular old guy cards, she could be used for a prom or quinceanera themed card. You could even cut off her veil and she could just be dressed up with a tiara on.

Here is a closer look at my coloring. I forgot to go back and make the catch-lights in the eyes white, oopsie!! I will have to do that before I send out this card.

The veil and the dress were paper pieced with patterned papers from the My Mind’s Eye The Sweetest Thing paper pad called “Honey”. I also used a patterned paper from this paper pad on the card.

I did some shading on the veil and dress using Copics: W00, W0, and W1.

To color in the rest of the image, I used the following Copic colors:

  • Skin: E00, E21
  • Cheeks: E02
  • Leaves: G43, G46
  • Hair: E25, E27, E29
  • Flowers & Tiara: RV25

I cut out a label shape from white cardstock using the Nestabilities Labels Nine die template from Spellbinders.

I added some washi tape to the background patterned paper & then slapped on a sentiment (also from the I DO stamp set). The card base is white cardstock.

This finished card measures 5X5inches.

Here is another look at the finished card:

Rose of Love Card

Hello everyone! Happy February!! Today it is my day on the Crafter’s Companion Blog, and I am bringing you a new Stamp It project that would be perfect for a Valentine’s Day gift.  I used this gorgeous Rose Clock stamp from the Stamp It line from Crafter’s Companion.

I was drawn to this image for its soft vintage style. I love anything with flowers, and these roses are absolutely gorgeous. I love how realistic they look. Since the image has a vintage feel to it, I decided to go with rich browns & distressed edges for my project.

For my project, I colored my image, and then distressed the white paper with some distressing ink.

I matted the stamped image onto some brown damask patterned paper. My card base is some dark chocolate cardstock,  then attached some scripty patterned paper to it after I tied a bow using some satin ribbon.

Well that’s all for today! Be sure visit the Crafter’s Companion Blog for Stamp It projects all week long!

Today is also my day on the SP Stamps Blog so stop by and see what else I have made for ya 🙂
